Health care providers are a crucial part of California's health care delivery system. Although the DMHC does not license or regulate providers or medical groups, we make sure that claims are paid fairly and timely.
Revised regulations passed in 2005, require the DMHC to collect and analyze the financial statements of Risk Bearing Organizations (RBOs) on a quarterly and annual basis. This enables the DMHC to closely monitor the financial solvency of RBOs in order to keep this important component of the managed care system strong.
